LuLu in Laguna Series
Most of these paintings are on silk and were inspired by eight years of living in the mermaidalicious Laguna Beach, California where I spent much time frolicking about with red-headed mermaids, water-dogs, garden cats and artists as well as exhibiting my work every summer at the Sawdust Art Festival.
My fairy paintings were inspired by time spent communing with the fey folk found in the elfin forests and inland valleys of Southern California. These paintings are all watercolors rather than silk paintings because this allowed for greater detail and the faeries liked that. And yes, I did see the faeries. They appeared like flittering lights out of the corner of my eyes and they told me sad stories.
Many of the goddesses were published in my Goddess Zodiac Playbook which I created over one moon’s time, meditating, painting and channeling in accordance with the moon’s passing through each of the twelve zodiac signs. The book was always meant to be interactive and is used by many small groups each month to celebrate the new, full and waning moons.
