2023 Year End Review

This year I am celebrating:

• The launch of my new gallery site for my more weird and ‘out there’ art - katcrab.com

• The filling up of nine writing journals.

• The celebration of my 30th wedding anniversary in Los Angeles with my loving partner, Mark.

• Becoming an oracle deck reviewer for Witches & Pagans magazine (a hard copy magazine).

• Camping in our Roof Top Tent (RTT) across the United States and Canada - fun!

• Re-releasing my new and updated Lefty Oracle Deck that now includes meanings on the back of each card.

• New logo design for this website!

• Ongoing Faerie Shamanic Witch ritual studies with Francesca De Grandis

• My paintings were shown in four gallery exhibits this year; two in the US, one in Canada and one in Scotland.

• Being a California Arts Council Grant Review Panelist for the first time.

• Becoming an artist member of Union Gallery, Modern Fuel Artist Run Centre (both in Kingston, Canada) and the Gananoque Arts Network.

• Playing piano (classical/celtic) again and brushing up on my French.

• Am currently taking a break from social media: FB and IG - BIG WOOT!

In 2024 I Look Forward to:

• Putting together a new Fey Witch Spell deck chock full of wild and magickal paintings and spells.

• Even more time spent travelling and camping across two countries in our RTT with our wee ten pound pooch Djinn Djiin in tow, of course!

• Continuing daily painting of a new series of non-dominant hand shapeshifter nudes.

• Joining Dorland Mountain Arts Colony as an Artist Associate.

• Visiting my dear mom again in Western Canada!

Affirmation: There is an unexpected message from afar that you need to hear.

Summary

It was a tough year last year for many of us. The phrase, 'pulling ourselves up by the bootstraps’ comes to mind. Yes, we struggle on, tightening our belts, as cost rise, but our loved one’s keep us going - if we can reach out and LET THEM KNOW when we need them.

Don’t be afraid to snuggle up and take some down time; read a book, pet your fur baby, listen to some relaxing music, cleanse in healing water, smell a pretty flower, nap!!!

There is no need to push so hard right now. Let go, and just be. Things will liven up in April. Celebrate new birth; of children, a pet, a creative project, a plant that flowers. Curtail spending. Find more support from a group in synch with your values. Build something. Journal it. Value YOU and share your joy. And remember, we are ALL connected.

Astro Notes

This is the Year of the Wood Dragon in Chinese Astrology.

Pluto enters Aquarius (Jan. 20 - Aug. 31 and then from Nov. 19 - 2044) which highlights COMMUNITY, collective action and unique individuality. The last time Pluto was in Aquarius was during the crafting of the US constitution.

Jupiter conjuncts Uranus in April signalling optimism and a push forward.

Jupiter enters Gemini in late May and trines Pluto in early June - time to go deep to understand the energy and heal.
