Spirit de la Lune Deck Review

I recently had the pleasure of reviewing an oracle deck called Spirit de la Lune created by Marissa Rankin and Rachael Caringella of Tree Talker Art.

Firstly I love the holographic Moon-Glowing box - it delites my Faerie Heart - soooo magickal!

Then when I open the box the card backs are are Moon-Circle Round and perfect for shuffling in their thickness and weight plus they offer more magickal silvery glowing holographic graphics sparkling with sacred geometric patterns.

So, for my birthday reading I pull a card for my year ahead and I sit psychically with the card for a bit.

Then a message comes to me intuitively:
“Get down to it.
This is it!
Center yourself in your Magic.”

I feel a space opening within me as though this Moon-Shaped Card is inviting me to make space for the possibility of excellence and I’m inspired to jot down my year-goals in my Moon Journal.

Note to self: “Oh GOOD! This is a deck with a practical, applicable vibe - I love a good list!” (Virgo that I am).

Next I turn to the Guidebook and it’s soooo thick and juicy with wisdom - yum!

Summary

All in all, the Spirit de la Lune Deck has symmetry; its finely etched, magickal, glowing powers simmer and bubble beneath the surface to speak to our Moon-Hearts; wise words of magic with a grid-like geometric precision. The cards are filled with Moon paintings and with Rachael’s beautiful animal paintings too within a geometric mandala such as “Wolf Moon” - to help us sharpen our instincts.

There are several oracle card spreads within plus their meaning along with 16 Full Moon Mandala (‘Moondala’) cards (for the BIG picture) ie. Pisces/Aries Moon Cycle for the Seed Moon representing New Growth. There are also Eclipse cards and a Super Moon card along with 28 Moon phase cards for Daily Energy readings plus 12 Zodiac Mandala Cards.

I look forward to trying some of the oracle card spreads mentioned to further deepen my own intuitive, psychic, clairvoyant divination practice in tune with Mama Moon.

Rachael Caringella

Rachael Tree Talker Caringella is a mixed media artist, illustrator and intuitive oracle. Her favorite mediums are pen and ink, watercolor, pastels, acrylic and oils. On Losing My Beloved Dog + This Week's Soul Reading for the Aries Full Moon

I lost my big, beautiful, black dog Abby this week and didn’t know if I’d be doing these Soul Reading Videos any longer, but instead I painted and wrote and composed a song for her and I share this with you in today’s blog and video dedicated to my girl Abby and to Love. Soul Moan & Loss

With this painting “Soul Moan” all of a sudden I went from being one kind of artist to another.

Things deepened.

I had just read “Maïna” by Dominique Demers and had a wolf dream about my birth mom, Sally. These two things were connected. The author of “Maïna” had interviewed Sally to learn about being courageous in the wild. They were friends.

I meet in my dreams

and I paint her

Sagittarius Goddess: Artemis (Moon in Sag Sept 21-23)

Artemis, Artemis,
Goddess of the wood
You are bows and arrows, death and birth
Midnight revels and pregnant mirth.
Wild woman, child, hunter of beast,
We find our true self when we dance at your feast.

Artemis is the virgin moon-goddess roaming the forest with her band of nymphs, bearing the bow and quiver, avoiding men and killing any male who looks upon her. She was also known as the many-breasted Artemis of Ephesus, a symbol of fecundity. As the warlike Artemis she is said to have been the special goddess of the Amazons.

Capricorn Goddess: Kuan Yin (Moon in Cap Sept 23-25)

Mercy, compassion, grace,
China’s beloved Goddess chose this place,
To stay and guide enlightened mind,
Call her name and peace you’ll find.

Kuan-Yin is a feminine Bodhisattva, or Buddha-to-be and is the most powerful being in the entire Chinese pantheon and the chief symbol of compassion in the Orient.  Her name translates to “she who hears the weeping world”. By constantly repeating her name, it was said to bring peace and generosity into her worshiper’s lives.

Aquarius Goddess - Ix Chel (Moon in Aquarius Sept 25-27)

The Great Mayan Snake Goddess of water and the Moon,
Guides women in childbirth and those on the loom.

Among the Maya of the Yucatan peninsula, Ix Chel was the name given to the snake-goddess of water and the moon, and of childbirth and weaving. This night-riding goddess spent her energies nursing the women of earth through pregnancy and labor, taking special care of those who visited her sacred island of Cozumel.

and with this knowing comes wisdom,

If this card appears in a reading it’s time to accept who you are in this very moment; no matter your age, weight, health, clothes, hair or yes, even wrinkles! You know, of course, that you are perfect in every way, right? If you or someone you’re close to is feeling ‘old’ and negative about wrinkles please remind them that they or that you ARE winning – you are alive.

In my own life I do the best I can to celebrate my grey hair and even my wrinkles which does require some chutzpah ‘cause it goes entirely against the youth culture we worship. I am not ‘old’ and I forget sometimes that I have wrinkles. But I have learned a thing or two along the way and I honour the wisdom that comes with aging. If we are open to receiving this knowledge and honouring our age by being honest about it, instead of hiding, distorting or carving up our bodies to fit an ideal we don’t believe in, then we are indeed wise souls that have learned a thing or two.

The Elf Princess’ quiet light called to her Owl, her ally of the night and so she dreamed and foretold the future, past and present and she was respected by all the Elves of the Land who trusted her visions above all else.
