Awkward Beauty

Dear Moon Muser,

Each drawing/painting in my current series is showing, by example, how to change, transform, reclaim oneself.

How?

I draw with my non-dominant (left) hand - awkward, slow, weird.

I handicap challenge myself intentionally to create something different from anything I've created before...to be someone different...to know a different side of myself.

Not easy, but rewarding. The drawings show awkward beauty, what it's like to be autistic, neurodivergent, or different, or adopted, or weird, or to not fit in. This is beauty to me.

Merrow Born

I am in love with my merrow-folk, the mermaids; their ethereal enchantment ensorcelles me, completes me. So, of course I want you, my dear Moon-Guided friend to feel that too. She is not yet complete but already she is sending out her healing rays, so here she is and here is her poem:

Fairy Witch Support Just For You!

Dear Moon Muser,

I am having so much fun with my motto for the year: Art First, Integration and Simplification. How about you, do you have a motto or 'word of the year' picked out yet? 

Each morning I meditate by noting the astro and moon phase of the day, light 3 candles, say blessings and protections, surround myself with the sacred geometry of the Ring of Torus, let go of 3 blocks and say my motto. Then I do a chakra meditation, ground myself and pull oracle and tarot cards in answer to my questions.

This morning I realized that there is a need for ongoing healing and spiritual support and I'd love to offer you that through my oracle and tarot paintings and meditations.

You may not realize but I'm working on a new divination deck and will release more details about it closer to the Spring Equinox. I'm soooo EXCITED! I can't wait to share my progress, the name and concept for the new deck and slowly share the artwork from the deck as limited edition hand signed cards and prints.

We are currently in between Imbolc and Spring Equinox as we, along with beautiful Mama Gaia prepare for rebirth at Spring time. I've noticed the hummingbirds here are gathering fluff from dried weeds to build their nest. The Almost Spring smells are intensifying too. I live on five acres in rural Southern California so am surrounded by nature: giant old California Oaks, Elders and their dark blue berries, coyote, bobcat and once a ring tailed cat, oh so long ago.

I hope to share more work from my upcoming soon-to-be-announced deck. May these paintings bring you solace, joy and witchy wonder.

Virgo Full Moon Fairy Witch Merkat Blessings!

Dear Moon Muser,

She (my latest mer-painting above) is inspiring me this week to be a mermaid; to dress in flowing greens and blues and shades of abalone, to be centered in my emotions, to be beautiful.  How about you?  Are you a mermaid-at-heart too?

This Full Moon in Virgo on Saturday, Feb. 24 is complementarily opposite to Pisces, the mermaid, the two fish. At this Virgo Moon we can more easily tap into, not only our practical, service oriented, quirky Virgo essence, but our mystical, bliss-fed Piscean essence.

I don't know about you, but I need some of that watery bliss right now.

I was honoured this week to give a soul reading to a fellow soul reader who happens to live in the UK - I love when like-minds reach out and find each other.

My new Divination Deck is slowly emerging even though I'm on a bit of a rest break this week and, trust me, I ADORE my rest! How about you?  If you're in colder climes are you being a Mama Bear and hibernating or are you on the slopes, adventuring?

Today I hang clothes in a sunny breeze that's wafting that fresh, clean smell to me, thanks to my mom, I take special note and thank her for teaching me to appreciate and indulge in simple pleasures.

Brigid's Day Blessings!

Just a quick note from my rainy day desk in Temecula, California to wish you all a Blessed Brigid's Day.

Celebrated on Feb. 1-2 by Pagans, Witches and Brigit devotees, She is the Goddess of Smithcraft, Healing and Poetry and can help us protect and access our pure potential. This Festival or Sabbat also known as Imbolc (Oimelc) is one of the four great Celtic fire festivals or "gateways into the seasons of the turning year."

Bride or Brigit, often called 'Mary of the Gael' or 'Great Mother of the Celts' brings us the inspiration we need during the dark days of Winters to divine our futures and to find light within the darkness. She is the source of oracles. 

You will find Brigid's Fire continually burning in Kildare, Ireland as it was in pre-Christian times.This sacred flame was suppressed in the sixteenth century but was relit in 1993.

Brigid’s Myth

Brigid is one of the few early goddesses to survive intact through the Christian era. Brigid means 'bright one' as symbolized by fire. She is worshiped as a Triple Goddess by the Celtic Irish, called Brigantia in England, Bride in Scotland and Brigandu in Celtic France. In her ancient form as carrier of the cauldron she was ruler of smithcraft, poetry, inspiration, healing and medicine. The Christian Saint Bridget is often invoked as both muse and healer in continuation of her ancient rites and her rituals were preserved for more than 1000 years after she ceased to be called a goddess. Today little is left of the ancient Celtic legends describing her.
