Scorpio New Moon Blessings

Dear Moon Muser,

I've been gone from home nine weeks. Three weeks on the road and five weeks off-grid in Canada.

My website and etsy store have been shut down so no marketing, selling, etc. My internet and movie/series intake was minimal. My time was spent in nature, or reading, writing, sketching, with friends, or simply in quiet reverie.

Now that I've been back for over 24 hours I've managed to watch three of the Homeland series and my sleep was filled with unwanted images. How easy it is to be swept up in the powerful stories of media that constantly surround us, beckoning and demanding that we fill the empty spaces in our life with their sound and fury.

It's hard to be selective. It's easier to let the media in. Why? Because we can. It's everywhere. I've just come from a quiet, empty, off-grid, on-the-road space back into my everyday life and it's time to make some choices.

I have re-opened my website and etsy shop so I can offer my soul readings, astrology, art and oracle decks to you once again and do art/craft shows.

I also want to blog more. If you have any suggestions or ideas for me, just drop me a line. I'd love to hear from you and continue to be of service.

Welcome Home!

Within 24 hours of returning home to Southern California I was stung by a scorpion! Luckily the Common California Scorpion's venom is not dangerous unless you are very old or very young and I was fine, the pain was minor. I like to think that the sting was a reminder saying, "Hey, you're back in a place of magick, deep mystery and mystical exploration. Awaken to your power, listen deeply and be of service."

I hear Mother Mary, Maat, Rhiannon, Sekhmet, Brigid and Kerridwen calling. I am here.

As summer rolls on here in Southern California I continue doing art shows. As always I learn many lessons about life and people along the way.

The other weekend a woman came into my booth and started grilling me in a very intense and judgemental way about my soul readings.

I could feel my energy dropping and I was at a loss - it happened so quickly! And then she said “I believe you are a young soul” and I snapped to attention. This was a direct invasion of my space that I could immediately identify. No one has the right to force their opinions on you without asking permission first.

So I told her, “I did not ask for your opinion” and she suddenly became very nice to me.

I asked around about this woman and found out that she was very wealthy and had a habit of talking artists way down on their prices and then not seeming to appreciate the discount, but instead took it for granted.

What lessons did I learn in this encounter that might be useful for you?

Lesson 1

Feel the energy in the room and in your body. Take note.

Lesson 2

Put up extra protection by saying a prayer or affirmation.

Lesson 3

Do not overly engage with the person as this may encourage them. Pull back your energy.

Lesson 4

Stand your ground when necessary and speak up for yourself if you feel your boundaries are being dis-respected. Remain calm and use your intelligence.

Lesson 5

After the person leaves sage your space or say a prayer/affirmation and then speak with a trusted friend, spiritual advisor or your guides about what happened. Ground and center by being in nature, touching the earth, hugging a tree.

Lesson 6

Commend yourself on a lesson learned and pull an oracle or tarot card for further insight.

Lesson 7

Reassure yourself that you were NOT imagining things. Your space and your body are yours and you deserve to be treated with respect and decency at all times.

Art From the Heart - Connecting More Deeply

As an adoptee I know what it’s like to lose everything. When I was born I was taken from my birth mother immediately without her seeing me or holding me. I have suffered a great trauma and I know what it’s like to feel alienated and disconnected from everything.

In this time of isolation and quarantine I am here to be of service the best way I know how. I’m keeping it together because I can (I’ve done it before). I’m always learning more with the help of my shamanic training, my mom, classes, my mentor, the gods and my own hard work and play.
