Canadian Cottaging, the 'County' & Montreal

If your heart and soul cries out for forests and lakes and GREEN as mine does then I hope you’ll enjoy these pix from my recent Ontario, Canada trip with a side trip by train to Montréal. We also spent time near Belleville, Ontario (where i grew up) in Prince Edward County on my 54th birthday to take in the galleries and wineries that sprouted up after I left Canada for California.

I genuinely hope to see you there even if it’s just to say hello (or in spirit, that counts too!) and to help spread the word – we have a NEW and wonderful GALLERY IN TOWN and serious, professional, working artists too!

Press Release

My creative exploration of goddess myth and HERstory began in 1995 with the publishing of my Goddess Zodiac Playbook compiled from over thirty paintings, poems, stories, and musings I created during a one month period as the moon transited through the twelve signs of the zodiac.

In 2008 I turned these paintings into a Goddess Zodiac Oracle card deck that guided over 1000 souls during intuitive readings I gave at Nirvana in Temecula, online, and in Moon Circles I facilitated at Mt. San Jacinto College and Yoga for Life, Temecula.

In this exhibit you will find ten goddess paintings completed between 2014-16 that have been published by We’Moon Datebook, the New Zealand Astro Diary, and SageWoman Magazine available at our very own Barnes and Noble, Temecula.

The ten large abstracts on display are from my Divine Feminine Journey into Intimacy series painted with acrylic on canvas from 2008-12 when I HAD to paint large. These paintings have been shown at Sun City Library and San Marcos Library.

You will also find my favorite, most popular silk art mermaids from my Laguna Beach days at the Sawdust Art Festival.

The latest work on display are goddesses painted on vintage, reclaimed wood and oak and sugar bush foraged from my Temecula property.

If you ask I’ll show you the series I’m working on now (not on display) called 54 Goddesses – I’m painting one-goddess-a-day for 54 days before I turn 54 on Sept. 7.

In 2020 I will publish the Goddess Zodiac Oracle deck (the book is already available here) and exhibit nine of those paintings at the Grace Mellman Library, Temecula in March.

Sparkly Blessings!

Migra

Kathy Crabbe. 2012. Migra. acrylic, pastel and charcoal on canvas, 48 x 48 inches. Migra belongs to the Journey into Intimacy Series; an expressionistic, gestural exploration of intimacy expressed through a personal, symbolic language often synaesthetically inspired. This piece takes it name from Santana's song "Migra" (Supernatural Album). Migra also refers to the Mexican border patrol. That's interesting because I recently (twice in the last month) have walked over the border to Tiajuana. To me, this painting straddles several worlds, just as I do, having spent the first 26 years of my life in Canada and the last 20 in the United States.
