Birthing of the Deck

Creating the art and writing in this deck was my first act of art-magick back when I was in my late twenties, newly married, and living in lovely Laguna Beach, California after graduating from design school and moving to the US from Montréal, Québec. I was in need of Goddess Energy in my life and Astrology was my passion, but it was so Male! So I spent a month channeling Goddess Energy in tune with Mama Moon. I painted and wrote and danced the entirety of this deck into being which I then spent over 25 years to bring to fruition and into your hands as a Zodiac Goddess Power deck and guidebook.

While channeling Taurus energy I felt ecstatically happy just being outside amongst the green plants and flowers, feeling the sun on my bare arms and the solid ground beneath my feet. I felt myself enveloped in a singing, dancing, playful, ecstatic happiness and I couldn’t stop smiling. Mother Earth nurtured me as I felt myself becoming one with her raw sensuality, beauty, strength and love.

As I painted the earthy forms of Taurus in the colors of nature, She allowed me to see her naked glory wrapped in the seasonal sadness of her shifting cycles.

I Paint Virgo

While channeling Virgo energy I wrote a story about a young girl who lost all she valued before learning to love each day for its own sake. As a young woman she discovered her animal totem and lover, the brown bear who symbolized love and strength. As she grew older and wiser she collected herbs and healed others. Awakening Virgo energy helps us tune into the health of our bodies and minds, deciding what seeds to harvest and what to compost. Virgo knows how to harvest great ideas and turn them into something useful and nourishing.

My Virgo painting depicts the three stages of a woman’s life: maiden, mother, and crone. The colors are earthy and healing blues and greens.

Channeling Sag energy allowed me to trust in life and to leap before looking knowing that I am safe. When I seek truth I know Sag energy.  Sag teaches us how to uplift our spirit, teach others, and carry the truth within opening us all to other realities.  We must heal the artist, the creator, and the dreamer within. To create is to release ourselves into the flow of life. We trust that in freely expressing ourselves that we are doing it for everyone, because we realize that each one of us is a Creator.

In my Sagittarius painting I have depicted a third eye that explodes into flames. This mystical, visionary opening allows me to connect with my higher purpose, guiding the way for all humanity.

The Capricorn Meditation released lots of anger as I felt myself breaking free from structures I had learned from my parents. Capricorn rules structural systems such as our bone structure and our skin as well as boundaries and laws. The body challenges and teaches us how to become divine, but first we must appreciate the body we were given.

My Capricorn painting is heavy and sad as I released old, outworn forms. Capricorns lessons are never easy and my soul yearned for freedom from this depressed mode of being.

Capricorn teaches us how to organize our time so that we can release our energies in a guided, productive way. We are learning about boundaries and laws. Capricorn encourages us to focus our power so that we can release our creativity and sensitivity in connection with our life’s mission.

During the Aquarius Meditation I realized that all we do effects humanity. My painting shocked itself alive as the Pleiadians spoke with me through the language of a fire flame. I was being guided. DNA runs through my painting as with jabs and bursts of energy. We can tap into Aquarian energy by exploring radical ideas and questing into the future. Aquarian energy is filled with electrical insights of lightening bolt intensity designed to shake up the entire world!

During the Pisces Meditation I questioned Love. Love is everything from pain to pleasure and I needed to listen and love myself first before I could love anyone else.  But how do we know if love is true? Love is warm, whole, open and selfless. Love is shameless, guiltless joy. Later that night I had a dream where Love poured through me unlike anything I’d ever felt before.

My Pisces painting (see beginning of this chapter) flowed magically and gracefully onto the illustration board and I felt Her energy calm, serene, peaceful and knowing.

Chamomile is an herb of the sun connected with the solar plexus chakra. Chamomile is also good for people who are feeling emotionally drained.  The solar plexus chakra is the place where we take in energy from others.  Sometimes we can feel our energy is being sucked out, or that we are under attack from another person.  This is almost always an unconscious action on the part of the other person; they might be very needy and suck the energy of those around them. Chamomile can be taken as a tea, used as an oil, or burnt as an incense, whenever you feel in need of nourishment and mothering. Working with Chamomile can help you to protect your solar plexus chakra from people or places that de-energize you.

If this card appears in a reading it’s time to look back at the fun parts of your childhood. What memories spark good feelings? Are you able to tap into those feelings in any of your current activities? In other words how do you feed your child self that still wants attention? She or he is a part of your psyche that may need some extra care and attention right now so give yourself some precious time to do just that. Break out the crayons, the bike, the ball, the clarinet, the glitter wand and make some magick happen. Do something that touches your inner child-self and makes her/him feel happy and loved. Like the butterfly wings in this card’s imagery it’s time to fly, transform and awaken yourself perhaps by leaving things behind, or by remembering and loving the old you or by stowing away all parts of you that are no longer needed.

In my own life whenever I sit down to draw or paint I feel as though I’m feeding my inner child and bringing love and joy into my life so I try to do that every day because I usually feel better afterwards (and during!)

Welcome Moon Musers to my Moonday Soul Reading Video & Blog!

That Full Moon/Samhain/Halloween last weekend was a DOOZY for me; the air was heavy with ancestors and the mood was intense. If this card appears in a reading it’s time to look back at the fun parts of your childhood. What memories spark good feelings? Are you able to tap into those feelings in any of your current activities? In other words how do you feed your child self that still wants attention? She or he is a part of your psyche that may need some extra care and attention right now so give yourself some precious time to do just that. Break out the crayons, the bike, the ball, the clarinet, the glitter wand and make some magick happen. Do something that touches your inner child-self and makes her/him feel happy and loved. Like the butterfly wings in this card’s imagery it’s time to fly, transform and awaken yourself perhaps by leaving things behind, or by remembering and loving the old you or by stowing away all parts of you that are no longer needed.

In my own life whenever I sit down to draw or paint I feel as though I’m feeding my inner child and bringing love and joy into my life so I try to do that every day because I usually feel better afterwards (and during!)
