Encounter with a Great Horned Owl

While walking the dogs one night with my mind elsewhere I heard an odd clicking noise so I put on my glasses, looked up and saw a Great Horned Owl, my spirit animal, very close. His neck feathers were rolling and ruffling in tune with his “Who Who Whos” and I snapped awake on that quiet dirt road at dusk as the sun set. I will never forget that moment. It woke me up to wildness; to a place inside untouched by cell phones, screens or digital noise.

Dragonfly Style

This painting was shipped to my dear Mom. It sooo reminds me of her especially the BLUES; of water and healing, love and safety. I grew up in Ontario, Canada and we passed bullrushes like this on our way to the cottage where we also spotted mercurial glimpses of many colored dragonflies, often joined in mating; what bliss!
