Libra New Moon 2016

I'm always hesitant to get too personal online although I know it's the trend as it does suck folks in in a sort of soap opera way but that is just not me! I fear navel gazing and boring you with the intricacies of my own personal life and heck, it's MY personal life...nuff said.

I will share what the essence of Libra means for me though. It means the ability to adapt to any situation with grace and charm. It means having a sleeping bag and tent always at the ready in the trunk of the car in case of a good camping opportunity. It means making a party wherever you are instead of whining. So, in that spirit I introduce you to this month's New Moon oracle card from my upcoming Lefty Oracle Deck plus her/his accompanying affirmation and story-poem that will also appear in the guidebook for the deck.

To Dither or not to dither, that is the question

‘To dither or not to dither, 
that is the question.’ 
Or is it? 

Perhaps it’s the answer? 
Caught in the space in between -
the space where poetry grows
and fairies go - 
is where this question lies. 

Perhaps it’s a question
only my higher power can divine? 
Perhaps it’s not meant to be answered? 

Perhaps I shall just sit
and twiddle my thumbs
and dance my dance and call it a night. 

Perhaps in doing so
I am fulfilling my destiny after all.

My Lefty Oracle Deck Art Opening at Riverside Art Museum

Click here for tons of fun photos from the opening where I had folks pick a card from the deck and then come up with a pose inspired by the card...couples collaborated to come up with a small re-enactment of what the card meant to them and performed it in my booth as I snapped a pic. Folks also practiced drawing with their non dominant hand in the wee guidebook I provided.

September's Virgo New Moon Inspiration

As the New Moon rolls through Virgo this September 1 we "assess, analyze, organize...heal, weed, edit and discern." Since we are also in a Mercury Retrograde time from August 31 - September 21 we will add to the mix that it's a good time to, "practice and polish qualities into precious treasures" during this "symbolic "sleep cycle"; a time "to pause and go back over familiar territory, reflecting and giving second thoughts to dropped projects or miscommunications...leave matters that lock in future commitments until Mercury goes direct" on September 21. Lefty Oracle Card of the month: "The Real Work has Just Begun" *

When you pull this card in a reading it means business. What IS your “real work; the work that matters to you on a soul-deep level? The work you MUST do before you die. Define that first. Then ask yourself; “am I doing my ‘real work’ consistently or is it even on my radar?” If your “real work” is still a mystery to you, it’s time to awaken to your soul’s calling and uncover your true gifts. You can start by looking back at your childhood and pin-pointing your favorite parts. Next, look at favorite current activities or times when you’ve been so absorbed you lost track of time. In my own life I purchased the Strengthsfinder book, took the test and identified my top five strengths which helped me focus on my strengths rather than my weaknesses so that I could truly shine.

Full Moon Lefty Oracle Card: Abraxia*

When you pull this card in a reading anything goes; the possibilities are endless. You have the power to reach for the stars and expand your consciousness into infinity. In my own life I find that this card stimulates the strong Aquarius Moon in my chart so I push myself to reach deeper and farther into the mystery, untangle webs and uncover stars. Dear Intuitive Soul,

Ulrica Could Handle Anything: When Ulrica appears in a soul reading It’s time to get serious, take charge and get ‘er done! Put on your action cap or your thinking cap or whatever cap you need to help you focus on what’s important. If you’re a woman this may mean accessing your animus or your inner male – the part of you that thinks in a linear, goal focused way. If you’re a man it’s time to tap into your inner male. Whether male or female take a moment to honour yourselfand recognize all you’ve achieved so far in your life.

In my own personal life I gain daily focus by writing a to-do list every morning after breakfast; a list that is actually do-able so that I can gain much needed satisfaction from checking things off my list.
