Circe or ‘witch’ was a fate spinner and a weaver of the destinies of men.  She was called ‘The Goddess who commanded all the lights of heaven’ by Pliny an ancient philosopher. Circe lived as a witch and a weaver in a little stone cottage by the sea where she concocted magical herbal potions to ensnare sailors shipwrecked near her shores, turning the nastiest ones into swine.

If this card appears in a reading it’s time to look back at the fun parts of your childhood. What memories spark good feelings? Are you able to tap into those feelings in any of your current activities? In other words how do you feed your child self that still wants attention? She or he is a part of your psyche that may need some extra care and attention right now so give yourself some precious time to do just that. Break out the crayons, the bike, the ball, the clarinet, the glitter wand and make some magick happen. Do something that touches your inner child-self and makes her/him feel happy and loved. Like the butterfly wings in this card’s imagery it’s time to fly, transform and awaken yourself perhaps by leaving things behind, or by remembering and loving the old you or by stowing away all parts of you that are no longer needed.

In my own life whenever I sit down to draw or paint I feel as though I’m feeding my inner child and bringing love and joy into my life so I try to do that every day because I usually feel better afterwards (and during!)

Creative Journal Prompt
When you look back at your childhood, what pops out for you as a favorite memory, or two, or three? Why are they your favorite memories? Are you still in touch with that side of yourself and the people or places in those memories? If not, why not? Take one small step today or this week to re-connect with those people or places and write down a plan for this in your journal.

Rest your eyes, nose, mouth, ears, face, heart.

Breathe deeply and sink into the delicate (or bold) colors of your favorite flowers. Allow yourself to be held and caressed by their gentle petals. Smell them (or not, if you're sensitive) and feel their gentle magic light up your soul tingling all your cells.

Say thanks or give a small blessing to Mother Earth.

Now, go even deeper within to where the still, small voice inside resides and ask your question (if you have one) allowing it to bubble up naturally, like breathing.
