About The 52 Project:
I went on a 52-week artistic journey, with 147 other people, this past year. It was a program through the Riverside Art Museum called “The 52 Project” and it was designed to help us be more creative through setting goals, discovering our story, capturing ideas in a journal and learning about the “business” of art. This summer we will be sharing the results of this amazing experience with 33 mini 4-day exhibits and a Group Show.

The Riverside Art Museum has been very generous in supporting us so we have agreed, as a group, to help raise some funds to help underwrite the installation of the summer shows and bring in some seed money to insure the continuation of The 52 Project.

To keep this worthwhile Project going please click here to donate to the Riverside Art Museum.

Week 6 of The 52 Project ~ First Open Studio

Writer. Artist. Words as important as images in my work.

Attended the first Open Studio for The 52 Project.

While hanging out in the Artist's Room I longed for the Writers Room. I longed for the quiet, the introspection, the written word, the self-examination. To me, this is sacred. The Artist's Room was N-O-I-S-Y! Piercing whistles could not get their attention. What was I doing here? I did manage to share my Lefty journal with others and take a look at some other journals. After a bit I left and headed over to the Writer's Room where I could breathe again. One room for extroverts and one for introverts. Interesting.

During these 52 weeks I am not defining myself or focusing on art sales/marketing. I am free. We'll see where it leads.
