Card 1: Is this worth fighting for? (Lefty Oracle Deck)

Mantra: I am strong.

Affirmation: I am strong enough for anything.

If this card appears in a reading there may be fighting going on around you or within you. This card will help you get a deeper and higher perspective on the fighting so that you can avoid getting swept away by emotion. Healthy anger can propel one forward. Unhealthy anger festers and feeds on itself in a never ending loop, growing bigger in the process. Take a time out to figure out what the fighting is really about. Are there hidden agendas, buried prejudices, out and out aggression, hatred, petty rivalry or selfish mean-ness involved? What is the lesson here? Take the fight to another level to save your sanity and yourself, and to be a model of this behavior for others who may need this lesson more than you.

In my own life, with Aries Rising in my astrological chart, I often rise to a fight or even start one just for fun and often to shift stagnant energy and shake things up, but I lose steam if the other person gets too into it. This card and it’s snake imagery symbolizing wisdom, depth and healing reminds me to take the high road as symbolized by the giant golden angel wings and helps to bring empathy, compassion and a pause for breath to the situation so that hateful words almost spewed are never spoken, because some things cannot be taken back once released.

Transform Negativity: New Moon in Scorpio + Moon Vibes in Scorpio Nov 6 - 8

On November 6th Mama Moon enters Scorpio until the 8th becoming a New Moon on Nov. 7th so we are gonna go in and go deep ‘cause it’s also Lunar Samhain (when the New or Dark Moon and the Sun are both in Scorpio). This means the veil between the world of the living and the dead is lifting allowing us Elves to tarry longer with curious humans seeking Otherworlds. This is a GREAT time to open up new channels of communication.

With Moon trining Neptune and sextiling Pluto we’ve got extra help from the Astral planes in doing just that; spiritually attuning ourselves with a deeper, higher power to transform hate and negativity.

In my own life I just love being forewarned of major shifts by using the tools of my trade: intuition, my oracle deck, scrying, astrology, speaking with my guides, dreams and Mama Moon rituals. Any or all of these can be useful, but sometimes I need to be open to something I haven’t tried yet. Perhaps some new way will be shown to me, so I pay attention and maintain a daily intuitive and magical practice. Being a Virgo, I love to be prepared. How to Find Calm Amidst the Storm this Leo New Moon

To begin, let's all create a shared, sacred, safe circle to join and blend and enhance all our powers of intuition and protection. Envision each one of us together across the globe sharing space, breathing in and breathing out together in honour of Mama Earth, Father Sky and all our relations. This is our time together to do with as we will. Blessed Be.

The Lefty Oracle card (below) I pulled for this reading asks us to stand (or sit) tall and proud, feeling our heart space filled with love, honour, pride and joy. You can also place your hand over your heart or a vein to feel it beating. You are very much alive and present in this moment. Acknowledge that.

Leo is a HEART SIGN; a passionate fire sign, and with the Sun now entering Leo and the planet Mercury (ruling communication) retrograde and Mars closer than it's been in 60,000 years since 2003 plus a Solar Eclipse, we are going to work with this energy to go within.

Often in an emergency our fight or flight reactions are so strong that they overwhelm us, so let's find some guidance around this right now. I'd like you to choose a color that calms and supports you, or pick a person (alive or dead) or an animal that can assist you in finding this calm.

Now, practice doing this by envisioning or calling up that color/person/animal right now as you relax your breath and get quiet. Allow your heart to fill with their presence and repeat or envision their name, the color, or the animal over and over until you feel calm.

Kidney Stones! My Story

The exercise above is based upon a recent bout I had with a 5 mm kidney stone. I thought I might be dying; the pain was intense. Whilst in the hospital having tests done I called upon my birth mother, Sally  (a nurse) who had passed away. I envisioned her as a lithe Green Goddess with long red hair just as I'd painted her previously to help me through her dad's funeral. Interestingly enough while in hospital awaiting tests, an orderly was calling out, "Is Sally here?" over and over. This was yet another confirmation for me, that yes, we are guided and protected just when we need it the most.

I also recommend Motherwort Tincture prepared in 100 proof vodka NOT grain alcohol for help with calming the nerves and the heart (as recommended by Susun Weed).

Lefty Oracle Card for the New Moon: This beauty is killing me*

Mantra: I am empowered
Affirmation: I am beautiful in my own way.
Element: Fire

When this card appears in a reading it’s time to seriously look at how you might be damaging yourself, your health, your life. Wearing high heels, for example is extremely harmful to your feet and back and will cause pain for you at some point in your life. Are you hurting others or being hurt? Are you vulnerable? Do you need protection and education around protecting yourself, your loved ones, your home, or the natural world around you? This card is simply pointing out the price you are paying for so called ‘beauty’. Is it worth it?

In my own life here in Southern California I look around at all the plastic surgeries and there are A LOT. But what can I do? I can accept me and put myself proudly out there to share my idea of what beauty means at middle age. It’s silver hair, extra weight and wrinkles that add to my beauty, not take away from it. I have survived AND thrived and beauty IS middle aged and wrinkled. So deal with it.

Tingly Love: A New Moon Flower Meditation

Rest your eyes, nose, mouth, ears, face, heart.

Breathe deeply and sink into the delicate (or bold) colors of your favorite flowers. Allow yourself to be held and caressed by their gentle petals. Smell them (or not, if you're sensitive) and feel their gentle magic light up your soul tingling all your cells.

Say thanks or give a small blessing to Mother Earth.

Now, go even deeper within to where the still, small voice inside resides and ask your question (if you have one) allowing it to bubble up naturally, like breathing. In my own life there is a lot of second-guessing, so when the above happens and things feel fated I just KNOW I’m on the right track. Often a dream will confirm it.
