Power Potion & Meditation to Cure Addiction & Let You Shine!

How to stop addiction? This is a question that many of us are asking ourselves. How do we stop doing what we know is harmful to our very being? It may be something that provides us with both intense pleasure and pain and I do believe that we are quite the masochistic society. So, how do we stop? I meditated upon this today with my many crystals in tow acting as chakra balancers and guides, allowing me to access the All, the Divine wisdom that is available to each one of us when we open our hearts, minds and souls and truly listen.

I was guided towards my Lefty Oracle cards and pulled a card called "Intrepid Dalmia ~ fern-dancer". Dalmia expresses how the passionate, sensual side of us can find release through dance, sacred play and pleasure and through expressing ourselves in an enchanted, physical way.

I also worked with a stone called "Bloodstone".

Bloodstone (green and red) helps force one's focus onto the physical level and the earth plane, promoting courage and achievement and preventing distractions in living and moving forward on one's life path. Placed under your pillow at night, it may help you have visionary dreams of the future. Bloodstone is said to bring wisdom, and in the past was polished and used as a mirror to watch solar eclipses.

A Bloodstone Meditation:

I am a dreamer. My dreams will guide us all. Dreams of blood, hate, sorrow, madness, joy. Dreams foretelling the future, reliving the past. I am the wise woman who knows nothing. My life, my words, my art - together as one - prophesizing freedom from bondage - guided, blessed, beloved.

We heal ourselves time and time again until time no longer is, and we are ONE, at peace with the ALL.

Power Potion:

Plant the Bloodstone deep within your core and let it re-formulate your being, your blood, your cells.

Wear white pearls as you envision pearly-white wings surrounding you, offering you protection.

Pray constantly - in gratitude and to be of service, with integrity and honour shining forth, knowing that you are indeed blessed.

How To Develop Your Psychic & Intuitive Abilities - Part 1

This blog post was written in response to a question emailed to me by one of my clients. It was such a good question that I thought it deserved a blog post (or 2, or 3)!

Andrea's Question: "Do you have any recommendations about how one should go about furthering their psychic abilities? I've read tarot cards on and off, and seem to have a knack, and then of course there's my natural ability to "read" people. But not necessarily with dates & times and all that predictive stuff"

My Response: I personally like to learn experientially in a hands-on fashion, but my very earliest experiences with the intuitive realms involved private exploration of dreams and dream journaling, astrology, tarot and paganism. I began learning about these things in my early teens and have gone on to develop my natural intuitive abilities (which we all have) with the help of teachers, through group classes, workshops, lectures, books and private sessions with healers and intuitive guides.

Dreams

I started out by working with my dreams and recommend keeping a dream journal by your bed where you can record dreams when you wake up or by setting an alarm clock to wake yourself up at an odd hour to facilitate dream remembrance. Significant dreams will stay with you and resonate for years to come and you will begin to know which dreams are significant with practice. You can also work with lucid dreaming or by asking yourself a question before falling asleep and requesting that the answer come to you in a dream. Often dreams will allow you to re-connect with deceased friends or relatives and sometimes you may astro travel as well.

Astrology

There is much more to astrology than just your sun sign (determined by the day you were born.) Becoming involved with the study of the planets and stars will expand your awareness on a universal level connecting you with the bigger picture crossing generations and even universes. My own studies in metaphysics began with dreams, then astrology.

Recommended magazine: “The Mountain Astrologer”

Recommended authors & teachers: Steven Forrest, Barbara Hand Clow

Tarot

Tarot decks are a whole world onto themselves and can involve you in an ancient study of images and symbols with mysterious origins. Working with tarot cards has allowed me to access the many realms depicted in the cards. By working with a Pre-Celtic Shamanistic deck called “The Greenwood Deck” I first encountered one of my main spirit guides while meditating upon the Ancestor card.

Recommended books: “Tarot For Yourself” by Mary K. Greer

Paganism & Goddess Worship:

I became involved with the study of paganism and ancient goddess religions when I was at university taking a Women’s Studies class, but was first introduced on a personal level to this topic by a male friend of mine who liked to dress up as Pan on Halloween. I have attended several goddess groups and pagan rituals but prefer to practice my own solitary, eclectic and personal blend of reverence for Mother Earth. Currently I practice Third Celtic Faerie Shamanism and was initiated into this tradition in 2017 by Francesca De Grandis.

Recommended books:”The Language of the Goddess” by Marija Gimbutas (archaeology), “The Motherpeace Tarot” deck and book by Vicki Noble, “The Book of Goddesses & Heroines” by Patricia Monaghan

Recommended authors, teachers & leaders: Starhawk, Szusanna Budapest, COG (Covenant of the Goddess)

This blog post details how I developed my own metaphysical practices and studies and I hope you will expand upon these suggestions in your own personal way. Upcoming posts will delve into: shamanism, energy healing, herbs, mediumship, crystal healing, channeling, psychic work, law of attraction, meditation, yoga and past life regression.

A Dream Collection featuring the Artists of Etsy

"You may find your thought processes turning inward this month, so be on the lookout for some amazing dreams."

This was a comment featured in last month's New Moon Newsletter and boy, I wasn't kidding! Here is a recent collection of dreams donated by the creative artists and crafters over at Etsy. Sweet Dreams to All! (and don't let the bed bugs bite!)

SpasticRabbit's Dream:
Me and some friends were at an aquarium walking down a hall towards a concert. My friend was freaked that the glass would break and the shark would get her, I told her not to worry because the lion fish would get her first.

We got to the concert and the band kept fluidly changing (for a while is was KISS then Meatloaf etc) They asked for some extras so me and my friend volunteered. They dressed us up as mattresses and we ran around stage being chased by guys dressed as radishes with pumpkins on their heads. By the end of the dream our costumes morphed into bread and sandwich components.

boygirlparty's Dream:
a few nights ago, i had a dream about a sad clown named Leebo that everyone started calling Tae Bo. Does that mean that i am a sad clown and i need to work out more? cause i already exercise a lot...

CREATEaTHOUGHT's Dream:
Last night I dreamt satan was a vampire and if he bit me I would become his wife and then he would be able to take over the world. Then I slashed him to pieces very bloodily and said a chant about being white light not dark evil light and turned him to dust.

mycreativeinstincts provided the "Dreamland" tile art bracelet pictured below and ZenGarden created "Genie with tears in his eyes" pictured directly above.

SlapHappyDrums Dream:
I was out of town and my husband had a dream he had to call and tell me about. He dreamed the answer to solve everything. Of course he couldn't remember the steps to take to get the world on the right track but for a brief moment he said he had it.

NoctisAeterna's Dream:
It starts off in a crowded area, like a mall or theater - I think it's a theater, judging by the surroundings. Not a movie theater, but a theater where stage performances are put on. We are locked inside.

Anyway. Everyone seems to be in a bit of a panic, because there are aliens in the theater. They are tall and humanoid, with bluish scaly skin like a snake's - they're not particularly scary or threatening, but everyone is afraid of them because they look strange, and are turning humans into more aliens somehow. I'm one of the people who is being turned into an alien - and I've been chosen by their prince to be his wife. For some reason, this doesn't bother me as much as it seems to bother the others.

I go into a washroom, and look into a brightly-lit mirror. My skin is scaly and blue now, my previously-short hair is now long and thick and curly, and I'm suddenly dressed in a white dress with lacy sleeves. I'm wearing lavender lipstick, and decide I don't like it, so I wipe it off with the back of my hand and look through a drawer beneath the mirror, which is filled with more makeup. Picking out a bright red lipstick, I apply that instead.

Outside the room, I hear a man shouting that he's figured out how they're transforming humans, but it's already too late.

BarbaraLousBoutique's Dream:
I had the Etsy dream. Again.
Ya know, the one where I sell something?
*snort*

Peachcult's Dream:
Half naked Mayan priestess with big feather headdresses chasing me up a tree and throwing cocktail weenies at me.

If I was a boy this would reek of Freudian issues.
As a girl it's just oddly disturbing.

I like what ZenGarden has to say about dreams:
"Our dreams use symbols, like a game of charades, to convey a message.
Betty Bethards' dream book, "Symbols for Self Understanding" (published by The Inner Light Foundation) has been my guide for many years. Your dreams prepare you for the next 24 hours - it's amazing, if you watch you'll see. I don't watch TV but sometimes I will dream about what will be a big story in the news the next day. Basement dreams are the 1st Chakra and attic dreams are the 7th Chakra. Cars are physical energy....a bus, for example, represents tremendous physical energy. Telephone calls in a dream are very important. They are messages you should always pay attention to."

Why We Dream - Dream Interpretation Made Simple

This article was written by UK based freelance writer, Laura Gellar.

What is the one thing we all have in common as a race? We dream! Dreams are sometimes good, sometimes bad and sometimes so confusing they leave us baffled for days, but dream interpretation isn't as difficult as many people try and make it out to be.

Why do we dream?

Different people have different opinions on this and I'm no expert, but I do have my own view of why we dream. I believe that in some cases it can be our subconscious mind trying to bring things to our attention that we may have overlooked in day-to-day waking life. I also believe that some dreams are messages from family members that have passed away, spirits trying to give us a heads-up on what's happening. However, I believe the golden rule of dream interpretation is that dreams are meant to be interpreted and understood, but not controlled. Experimenting with dreams by trying to control them is becoming vastly popular, but I believe this is wrong, dreams are a gift and we should treat them as such.

Rule #1 My first rule of dream interpretation is “Don't over analyze your dreams!”

Dreams can give us strong but simple messages:
My friend had a dream that she was kidnapped, tied to a chair and gagged. The person doing this was her boss. So I told her to look at her day-to-day life and figure out if anything was really bothering her, or making her unhappy. After a few hours of talking she realized that she was desperately unhappy at work because she hardly ever got to see her family (kidnapped.) She felt that she didn't have the freedom to say and do what she really wanted to do in her job (tied up and gagged.) Her boss represented the job itself.

Rule #2 Always keep a notebook and pen beside your bed, so that you can write down your dreams as soon as you wake up.

Dreams can become very complicated and confusing:
A lot of people dream about family members and friends that have passed away. Yes, this can be unnerving and a little scary, but for those of us who are non-psychics that are not able to tune our minds and bodies in to the spirit world it's often the only way that spirits can visit and communicate with us. Sometimes spirits want to tell us something, or warn us, but often they simply want to say ‘hello’ because they miss us as much as we miss them!

Interpreting your dreams takes practice. I don’t believe it’s something one can do for another person because everyone is unique. You know what's happening in your own life and you are the only one who can ever know what your dreams truly mean.

To sum things up:
1. Keep it simple and don't be afraid.
2. Listen and learn from your dreams and they will help you more than you ever thought possible.

How To Get Ready For Your Soul Reading

Here are a few suggestions to help you prepare for your reading so that you can have the best experience possible.

Be Prepared

The clearer your questions are, the clearer my responses will be and I would definitely advise you to check out my areas of specialty beforehand. If one or more of these tools or techniques appeals to you please let me know. Also, be sure and take a look at these soul reading samples to see if my style of reading fits your needs. I want to make sure we’re a good fit before we begin. Most people find the experience of getting a reading to be fun, inspirational and healing.

Plan on receiving an excellent reading

If this is your first reading, or you're feeling unsure or skeptical please try and keep an open mind so that the reading can take effect, both consciously and subconsciously, in direct and subtle ways. After a few days, you can question and analyze your reading from a more intellectual point of view.

Keep an open mind and heart

Sometimes a client can be so resistant to an answer that they didn’t want to hear, such as, “Is this person my soulmate and will I be with them forever?” that they will not benefit from the overall message of the reading. Over time, the big picture will start to become more clear and you may discover that you already have your answer.

Will I be able to ask questions about past, present and future issues?

Yes you can, but my readings are also intended to be therapeutic and healing based. If you are looking for more of a 'fortune teller' or ‘entertainment style’ reading I can always direct you towards someone else. Ultimately the goal of a soul reading is to encourage you to go more deeply within yourself, so that you can begin making the changes necessary to lead a fulfilling and exceptional life.

How do you read cards if the client isn't handling them?

I don't read cards like a tarot reader does. I use the cards as a visual affirmation to confirm the insights I receive during the reading and I don't look at the cards until after the reading is finished. During the reading, I hold my hand over the card to sense it's energy and this usually confirms what I'm picking up about that person's situation/question/issue during the reading. (See the photo below.)

The artwork (I only work with oracle cards of my own creation) is meant to expand the reading into the visual realms, because I find that people resonate with artistic beauty on a whole different level than the written word. Because I have always been an artist I truly and deeply believe in the healing power of art.

The real work has just begun

During a reading you will often receive confirmation about something that you already know and this is wonderful, because it's Spirit’s way of giving you the thumbs up. Sometimes you will receive information that may throw you for a loop, and in that case it's best to give it some time. Very often clients will write to me a month later telling me that their reading finally makes sense. But information alone is not the sole purpose of my readings. My intuitive skills are just a diving board, and a preparation, encouraging you to take the plunge so that you can delve more deeply into the heart of things. Once you are aware of what you are dealing with, you can then move forward and actually do something about it.

How to book your reading

You can book your reading from my website, www.KathyCrabbe.com or, if you would prefer to email me directly with your credit card information that is fine too, we can do it in several emails for security purposes, or over the phone, if necessary.

You can read what my clients are saying about their readings here.

You can also read over 370 feedback responses to my readings in my Etsy Shop.
